Our Story
We met through our involvement with children and bonded over our shared ethos and belief in the innate goodness of children and their ability to lead their own learning and determine their own destiny.
Reimagine supports clubs provided by our network, who provide a supportive nurturing environment, a cohort of friends and community to home educated children, to enable working parents to balance their home educating responsibilities with their other commitments.

Suzy
Hello, I’m Suzy,

I am lucky to have worked with children and parents in many different situations for most of my working life.

I continue to learn from children , my own, my step children and our grandchildren, as well as those I work with.

I was a kindergarten teacher for over 20 years at a Steiner/ Waldorf School. When I left full time work, we bought a small woodland. I have been inspired to set up small nature based educational groups there for children and their parents.

I find it inspiring to provide a setting where children can use their imaginative forces in play, singing, movement, crafts in many different mediums, and of course all this using the amazing gifts we get from nature.

I enjoy working with the seasons, and festivals, especially with children. I believe every child is gifted in their own way, and has something to offer the world.

Our task as adults, is to provide the place to enable that growth.

Fran
I'm Fran, a mother of two amazing beings. A sound healer, meditation practitioner keen artist and singer.
I have worked with young people of all ages starting with youth work giving information, advice and guidance to students in college and in youth clubs.
Once I had my children I moved into the beautiful world of Hartbeeps offering baby massage and singing classes to mother’s and children.
I then worked as a teaching assistant supporting children including SEN learning needs.
Through my own spiritual journey I have been shown the power of sitting in circle/ ceremony and I believe if we all sit together as equals and learn from each other that is where the magic happens.

Alex
I’m Alex, a children’s yoga & mindfulness teacher and mum to two girls. I work with schools across Hertfordshire offering children a break from the constraints of standard schooling and giving them the space to breathe and feel confident & empowered. Through movement & language I aim to equip children with the tools to navigate their emotions, build self worth and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
I incorporate yoga philosophy and physical practise to hold a holistic space for children to explore their interests, broaden their curiosity, trust their bodies & minds and care for themselves and others.
Using my previous experience as a makeup artist, I love to collaborate with children creatively and find encouraging them to use their hands & imaginations both excellent ways to dive deep into their interests. There are endless mindful activities and crafts to inspire children to be present and the calming effects are magical to watch. I work mainly with natural mediums, inviting children to connect with the earth and take advantage of the calming and grounding benefits. Children deserve the space to breathe deeply and delve in to their curiosity in a safe and nurturing environment.

Lu
Hi I am Lu,
I live in Pitstone with my husband and two children.
My background is in interior design and if I am not working on a project I am normally at my allotment or tending to my own garden.

I am so passionate about getting the younger generation into gardening & self sufficiency that I recently set up children's gardening club.

I love creating, whether that be pottery, jewellery making, cooking or painting and even, a sacred space where children have the freedom to just be.
Reimagine - Founder & Administrator
Daisy
I'm Daisy, a solicitor, entrepreneur and mother to five-year-old twins, based in Ivinghoe.
I founded 'Reimagine' having been a school governor for several years. I saw the approach the Department for Education had taken was lacking evidence in support and was, in many ways, counter-productive. This led me to explore progressive alternatives, for which I have rampant enthusiasm now! I'm really inspired by empathic communicators and have collaborated with Julie King, author of How To Talk So Little Kids Will Listen on parenting workshops & founded/moderate the UK Facebook Group of the same name.
In my search for something better for the next generation, I've been inspired by how miraculous children are! With a clear vision of how much better a child's learning experience of life could be, holding respect and the sovereignty of children at the core, I'm here to create a community of supportive, empathic and joyful life-long learners, centred around our children. I hope to do that by providing the administrative support to those running inspirational clubs for home educated children and families.

I am also in the early stages of creating an independent micro-school, which is set to open its doors in September 2025 for children 7 - 14 years.

Gwendoline
Hi, my name's Gwendoline,

I’m a qualified Forest School Teacher, Food Educator and Doula and have been home-educating my three boys for the last nine years from a child led perspective. I’m passionate about food and previously worked in the hospitality industry. I love to explore food and cooking with children as a way to inspire their creativity.
I currently work in collaboration with a number of community and education centres, Herts County Council, Oaklands College, Pioneer Club and the Food Bank providing foraging, catering and aromatherapy workshops for young people from age 8 to 19. I support the young people to build a tangible relationship through the shared experience of baking, cooking and eating together.
I find particular pleasure in supporting children to overcome adversity, to gain confidence in their own intuition and feel empowered. Having home educated three very different boys, I have honed my skills at identifying and enabling particular areas of interest for each child, despite being in a group with disparate interests.
I’m thrilled to see more groups popping up to provide children with a nurturing environment, connected to nature, outside of the traditional education system.

Vaughan
Hi, my name is Vaughan and I've been teaching children in a variety of different settings for over 25 years. I have taught the violin, viola, piano and general musicianship to individuals as well as groups of up to six children.
My approach is engaging and approachable, allowing the individual personalities of each child to develop and blossom. For me, teaching is all about allowing the uniqueness of every pupil to shine through whilst benefitting from my broad base of knowledge. Musical imagination, singing and rhythm games all help in grounding each pupil in the basics of music making and the sheer joy of self expression.
Music learning can be extremely effective when appealing to the sense of sound (aural), sight (visual) and touch (kinaesthetic) and by incorporating all three, children can succeed and enjoy a new world of music opening up to them.
