Our Story
We met through our involvement with children and bonded over our shared ethos and belief in the innate goodness of children and their ability to lead their own learning and determine their own destiny.
Reimagine supports clubs provided by our network, who provide a supportive nurturing environment, a cohort of friends and community to home educated children, to enable working parents to balance their home educating responsibilities with their other commitments.

Hummingbirds (Monday & Friday) - Lead Facilitator
Holly
Hi, I’m Holly.

I live with my husband and 2 beautiful children in Apsley. We love to cook, create, explore nature and help to care for the wildlife that visits our local area.
I currently hold adult and children’s craft workshops, as well as work part time as a Silversmith, whilst I'm working towards training as an art therapist.

I believe creativity has many important health benefits and is key to developing children’s confidence, individualism and problem solving skills.
I have always had a strong interest in psychology and the developmental brain, and am a massive advocate of art for mental health and wellbeing.
Children learn best when they are relaxed and happy, that’s why I am passionate about providing opportunities for children to engage in creative activities, which they can explore at their own pace, if or when they feel ready.

Fran
I'm Fran, a mother of two amazing beings. A sound healer, meditation practitioner keen artist and singer.
I have worked with young people of all ages starting with youth work giving information, advice and guidance to students in college and in youth clubs.
Once I had my children I moved into the beautiful world of Hartbeeps offering baby massage and singing classes to mother’s and children.
I then worked as a teaching assistant supporting children including SEN learning needs.
Through my own spiritual journey I have been shown the power of sitting in circle/ ceremony and I believe if we all sit together as equals and learn from each other that is where the magic happens.

Kayleigh
Hi I am Kayleigh,
My son Luca and I travel in from Enfield to be with the Hummingbirds Monday team. My background is operations management, specifically managing a large portfolio of student accommodations.
Since becoming a mum my interests have moved into conscious parenting and how to support children in the development of their whole self through self directed learning. I am trained in non-violent communication, helping others to understand the feelings and needs that drive human behaviour and am passionate about working in non-hierarchical structures that promote a 'power with' instead of 'power over' dynamic.
For fun I am writing a novel and have plans to host workshops for children and parents in the healing arts and intuition development

Reimagine - Founder & Administrator
Daisy
I'm Daisy, a solicitor, entrepreneur and mother to five-year-old twins, based in Ivinghoe.
I founded 'Reimagine' having been a school governor for several years. I saw the approach the Department for Education had taken was lacking evidence in support and was, in many ways, counter-productive. This led me to explore progressive alternatives, for which I have rampant enthusiasm now! I'm really inspired by empathic communicators and have collaborated with Julie King, author of How To Talk So Little Kids Will Listen on parenting workshops & founded/moderate the UK Facebook Group of the same name.
In my search for something better for the next generation, I've been inspired by how miraculous children are! With a clear vision of how much better a child's learning experience of life could be, holding respect and the sovereignty of children at the core, I'm here to create a community of supportive, empathic and joyful life-long learners, centred around our children. I hope to do that by providing the administrative support to those running inspirational clubs for home educated children and families.

I am also in the early stages of creating an independent self-directed learning micro-school, which is set to open its doors in September 2025 for children 7 - 14 years.

Katharine
Hi,

I’m Katharine. I have very fond memories of growing up in this area and now live nearby with my husband and two teenage children. Connecting with family and friends is really important to me and being a mother is one of my favourite things in life!

I’ve been involved in education for over 25 years having graduated from Cambridge University with a BEd (Hons) degree, specialising in Maths. I am always learning. I completed a study of children’s literature as part of my degree and throughout my career, have particularly developed my practice in supporting early reading. I love books and really enjoy sharing stories, poems, tongue twisters and rhymes with children. Recently, I qualified as a children’s yoga teacher, and I joined my son in learning to play the French horn which has been so much fun!

Since Covid, I have developed a strong passion for supporting children with their wellbeing which seems more vital than ever in our rapidly changing world. I run wellbeing and reading workshops for children aged between 4 and 14 as well as maintaining one day a week teaching in a Reception class in Harpenden. Children inspire and surprise me on a daily basis – they are so curious, creative, caring and full of energy. Watching them develop and facilitating their play is joyful and incredibly rewarding.

Being in my garden (or anywhere amongst nature!), growing fruit and veg, reading, arts & crafts, cooking and playing games bring me great pleasure and these are hobbies I love to share with children. I massively advocate the 5 ways to wellbeing. Walking, yoga and open water swimming are my favourite ways to be active and I have been trying to give more time to ‘taking notice’ and being mindful which is a practice that requires focus!

Lu
Hi I am Lu,
I live in Pitstone with my husband and two children.
My background is in interior design and if I am not working on a project I am normally at my allotment or tending to my own garden.

I am so passionate about getting the younger generation into gardening & self sufficiency that I recently set up children's gardening club.

I love creating, whether that be pottery, jewellery making, cooking or painting and even, a sacred space where children have the freedom to just be.
